Nancy S. Kirkpatrick, Dean of Libraries at Smith College
Nancy S. Kirkpatrick is the Dean of Libraries at Smith College. She brings a forward-looking approach to supporting the Libraries’ strong foundation of inclusive service, scholarly engagement, and academic excellence. Her leadership focuses on sustaining and advancing the Libraries’ role as a vital partner in research, teaching, and learning across the College.
Prior to joining Smith, Nancy held senior leadership roles in both academic and nonprofit library organizations, including serving as Dean of University Libraries at Florida International University (FIU) and Executive Director and CEO of OhioNet. She has a background in law and information science and a record of building strategic partnerships, leading organizational change, and championing access to knowledge.
Nancy is a retired attorney who has spent her career in mission-driven, nonprofit organizations. She’s a proud mom of two great humans. Nancy loves reading, writing, knitting, and getting outside whenever she can. A frequent traveler and enthusiastic speaker, she’s passionate about lifelong learning and loves speaking with groups about change, curiosity, and the role of appreciative inquiry in personal and professional growth.
Christopher Brown, Coordinator of Government Documents at the University of Denver
Christopher C. Brown is Reference Librarian and Coordinator of Government Documents at the University of Denver, Main Library. For over 25 years he has overseen the large government information collection and provided reference services to the university community and members of the general public. He is author of Mastering United States Government Information: Sources and Services, 2nd ed. (2025). Chris has taught as an adjunct professor in the University of Denver Library School for over 25 years.
Miranda Doran-Myers, Technical Services Librarian at the Colorado State Publications Library
Miranda Doran-Myers is the technical services librarian for the Colorado State Publications Library, where she supports government transparency by providing free, permanent public access to state government information. Miranda holds an MLIS from Florida State University.
Allan Van Hoye, Civic Literacy Librarian at the University of Colorado Boulder
Allan Van Hoye is the Civic Literacy Librarian at the University of Colorado Boulder, working with Political Science, International Affairs, Rare materials, and Government Documents. He has been at CU for almost 10 years and is currently working an MPP at the University of Colorado Denver. Allan’s research is focused on disabilities in libraries, access to rare materials, civic education, and government documents.
Phil Wrede, Government Information Collection Manager at the University of Colorado Boulder
Phil Wrede is currently the Government Information Collection Manager at the University of Colorado Boulder. Phil also oversees an ongoing print gov info collection promotion project, “Ben Franklin’s Believe It Or Not!”, and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Kentucky.
Carla S. Myers, Coordinator of Scholarly Communications at Miami University
Carla Myers serves as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Scholarly Communication for the Miami University Libraries. Her professional presentations and publications focus on fair use, copyright in the classroom, and library copyright issues. She has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Akron and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent State University.
Jenny Rosenfeld, Product Manager at OCLC
Jenny Rosenfeld is a Product Manager for resource sharing at OCLC, where she contributes to the development of innovative solutions including Tipasa, WorldShare ILL, and Resource Sharing for Groups. With an MLIS from San José State University and over 10 years of experience in academic and public libraries, Jenny brings valuable practitioner perspective to the product management process. Her approach combines hands-on library experience with data-driven insights to help create user-centered solutions that streamline interlibrary loan workflows and strengthen collaboration among libraries.
Christa Starck, Senior Product Manager for Resource Sharing at OCLC
Christa Starck is a Senior Product Manager for resource sharing at OCLC, where she leads product strategy. Since joining OCLC in 2000, Christa has played a key role in developing innovative tools that improve workflows for ILL staff and speeds delivery to library users. She holds an MLIS from the University of Iowa and prior to OCLC, Christa gained valuable experience working in both public and academic libraries.
Claire Hoag, Director of Engaged Spaces at the University of Colorado Boulder
Claire Hoag is the Director of Engaged Spaces at the University of Colorado Boulder and is the Libraries’ internal Product Owner for FOLIO. Her team includes Building Management, Materials Management, Security, and User Experience.
Candice Taylor, Outreach & Engagement Librarian at Adams State Library
Candice Taylor is the Outreach & Engagement Librarian at the Adams State University’s Nielsen Library, where she has served for the past year. She earned her BS in Sociology from Brigham Young University and worked as a Reference Assistant at the Harold B. Lee Library during her studies. She later completed her MLIS at the University of British Columbia before joining Adams State University. Candice enjoys photography and spending time outdoors.
Kellie Busath, Reference Specialist at Brigham Young University
Kellie Busath is a Reference Specialist at the Harold B. Lee Library, a role she has held for nearly three years. She received both her BA and MA in Linguistics from Brigham Young University, where she worked as a Reference Assistant and Department Assistant. After completing her MA, she accepted her current position as Reference Specialist. Kellie is currently pursuing an MLIS from San José State University and will graduate in December. She enjoys baking, embroidery, and time with her family.
Becky Croxton, Strategic Assessment Librarian at Colorado State University
Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Croxton is the Strategic Assessment Librarian at Colorado State University Libraries, where she leads assessment, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making initiatives. She holds a PhD in educational studies, a doctoral minor in research methodology, and an MLIS from UNC Greensboro. Becky has published widely and presents nationally on data storytelling, assessment, student success, and the value of academic libraries. She has over a decade of experience helping libraries use data to understand impact and drive meaningful change.
Bob Bennhoff, AspenCat Services Manager at Colorado Library Consortium
Bob has worked in libraries for over 20 years and has managed AspenCat for the past 15 years. In that time AspenCat has grown to be a unique consortia featuring all library types, with most locations serving rural Colorado.
Amy Hitchner, Metadata & Integration Services Senior Consultant
Amy Hitchner is the Metadata & Integration Services Senior Consultant at the Colorado State Library. One of her favorite roles is supporting Colorado catalogers through the Cataloging Fundamentals program, which includes facilitating Chatalogers, a statewide cataloging discussion group, and leading New Cataloger Camp, a learning cohort for new and accidental catalogers. Additionally, Amy manages CVL Collections, a program that helps small cultural heritage organizations share their digital collections online, and she publishes the Friday Grab Bag, a weekly series highlighting fun, unique, and interesting happenings in Colorado libraries. She has 19 years of library experience in cataloging, metadata, technical services, electronic resources, serials, and collection management.
Jamie Walker, Head of Technical Services at Colorado Mesa University
Jamie has been working in cataloging and technical services since the early 1980s and has contributed to more than one shared catalog over the years. Since 2006 he has overseen cataloging of both print and electronic materials at Colorado Mesa University Library, nearly all of which have been contributed to the Prospector Union Catalog.
Karen Neville, Cataloging Supervisor/Interim Collections Manager at Jefferson County Public Library
Karen is currently the Interim Collection Services Manager and the Cataloging Services Supervisor for Jefferson County Public Library. Her cataloging career is now old enough to vote, and she has cataloged materials for public, academic, school, and special libraries. Once upon a time, she taught cataloging at DU and UCD. She firmly believes the best cataloging balances patron needs, sustainable practices, and consistent rules. She is also a living cautionary tale on the consequences of previous cataloging decisions when joining a union catalog.
