Dr. Kathryn Miller develops and administers library resources and services in support of Florida Polytechnic University’s academic programs, faculty teaching and research, and student learning. Her duties include creating and implementing innovative information literacy and reference strategies for students.

Previously, Dr. Miller served as University Librarian and Assistant Vice President of Academic Services at Argosy University through January 2014. At Argosy, she was responsible for academic support services and the university library at 19 campus locations. She also has worked as a librarian at the Detroit Public Library and at the West Bloomfield Public Library, both in Michigan, as well as National-Louis University in Chicago.
Dr. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana. She earned a master’s degree in Library Science from Kent State University in Ohio. She has a second master’s degree in Teaching, as well as her doctorate in Adult Education, from National-Louis University in Chicago.

Publicity photo with logo and sayingAdrian Miller is a Denver, Colorado native who graduated from Stanford University (A.B. 1991, International Relations) and Georgetown University Law School (J.D. 1991). After practicing law in Denver for several years, Adrian served as a White House special assistant to President William Jefferson Clinton and the Deputy Director of the President’s Initiative for One America. Adrian is also a certified barbecue judge, food writer and an engaging speaker who has presented on such topics as: Black Chefs in the White House, chicken and waffles, hot sauce, kosher soul food, red drinks, soda pop, and soul food. Adrian’s first book, Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time (University of North Carolina Press) won the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Reference and Scholarship, and it is a 2014 Honor Book for Nonfiction from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. Adrian is currently writing a book on the history of African American presidential chefs. For his day job, Adrian currently serves as the Executive Director of the Colorado Council of Churches. He is the first African American and the first layperson to hold that position.

John Chrastka is executive director of EveryLibrary, the first nationwide political action committee for libraries. Since 2013, EveryLibrary has helped 25 library communities with ballot measures for funding, operations, and buildings, winning 19 and securing over $46 million in funding on Election Days. A long-time library trustee, supporter and advocate, Mr. Chrastka is a member and former president of the Board of Trustees for the Berwyn (IL) Public Library (2006 – present) and is a former president of the Reaching Across Illinois Libraries System (RAILS), a multi-type library system.
